First Bath

Being a mountain man, I don’t get many opportunities for a good bath, especially with a bunch of other folks. Such was the case on New Year’s day. The sun was shinin, weather was warm, and it weren’t even rainin. I got to Nordland dressed in my best buckskins just before noon. Lordy mercy but there was a passel of strange folks there. Most must have been poor shooters cause they looked like they hadn’t had a decent meal in a month. There was this one lady with a parasol and tutu. I meant to hook up with her to see if I could palaver my way into some kind of friendly situation but the more I seed of her the less I figgered my chances to be since she seemed to care more for the poor shooters that a well rounded mountain man. She wuz a runnin around waiving that parasol and a singin and dancing. That was when I spied this here woman in an old timey dress with two hair buns up on the top of her head. I’m thinking this fine lady would be more my type. As I got closer, I seed that she had a beard. Musta escaped from the circus but that didn’t slow me down none. I asked her what she was a doin after the rendezvous and she told me to get my hands off her butt. Well, far be it from me to create a spectacle of myself so I crept away figgerin she musta been one of Sarah Palin’s momma grizzlies.

Come noon it was time for my bath and we all commenced to jumpin into the water. I’ve bathed in water 10 times coldern that was so I commenced to lookin around for some food. I caught a handful of spot shrimp and come on up out of the water and enjoyed a meal of mountain man sushi right there on the dock. Freaked out a couple sheltered children when I offered them some.
